Week Two Takeaways

We're kicking the tires off on the season, with teams off to a great start and others... not so much. However, we have some exciting tidbits and news to share. But for some fans, it's somber news. What's going on after Week Two of the NFL season?

  • Jimmy G's Back! Trey Lance went down with a season-ending ankle injury against the Seattle Seahawks. That was devastating news for 49er fans that were hoping he'd be the future. In comes Jimmy Garappolo, who led the Niners to a comfortable 27-7 victory. The fan base is divided once again, with Jimmy G fanboys marking out to the max. Can San Francisco get back to the Super Bowl with the quarterback they nearly traded in the off-season?

  • Cat Scratch Fever: Joe Burrow is straight up not having a good time. The Bengals star has already been sacked 13 times and Cincinnati's 0-2. They lost to Cooper Rush and the Dallas Cowboys, which hurts even more. It's going to be tough sledding for the defending AFC Champions, who have to compete with Baltimore, Pittsburgh, and Cleveland in the AFC North.

  • Going South Fast: The AFC South is terrible. How terrible? The Colts lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars, who are rebuilding. The Houston Texans lost to the Denver Broncos and are expected to be awful. The Tennessee Titans are 0-2 after getting blown out by the Buffalo Bills, 41-7. This is going to be a long year for the division, especially when the rest of the conference is loaded with terrific teams.

  • Bonus: Tua Time! Tua Tagovailoa threw for 469 yards and led the Miami Dolphins to a 42-38 comeback victory over the Baltimore Ravens. Normally, Miami would've keeled over and croaked on the spot. But this squad never gave up and won the game. Loaded with offensive weapons like Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill, it's time to start taking the Fins seriously as an AFC contender.
