Playoff spots are being scooped up left and right! That also means teams are being eliminated from playoff contention. That's right, the playoff race is heating up! Who's getting ready for a Super Bowl push and who's getting ready for draft season?
Dirty Birds: If you think I'm talking about the Atlanta Falcons, you're terribly mistaken. The Philadelphia Eagles were the first NFL team to clinch a playoff spot, dominating the New York Giants, 48-22. Miles Sanders ran for 144 yards and two touchdowns, while Jalen Hurts had three total touchdowns. Philly gained 437 total yards in the beatdown, showing why they're the NFL's best team. Granted, the New York Giants are in a middle of a late-season collapse. But it's going to be tough trying to beat the Eagles in the playoffs, especially when everything's firing on all cylinders.
Bang Bang: Another NFC team that's absolutely clicking is San Francisco. They turned in another complete performance, destroying the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 35-7. Creating three turnovers, the Niners continued their defensive dominance, causing havoc for Tom Brady and company. Who knows? Maybe we'll see an Eagles-49ers NFC Championship in the works.
Lost Raiders? One team that isn't dominating all four quarters is Las Vegas. They blew a 16-3 lead... to Baker Mayfield. It has been a disappointing season for the Raiders, mainly due to a lackluster defense and letting their guard down. It has also been Josh McDaniels's fault for not being a tougher coach on his team. It looks like the former New England offensive coordinator will be out of a job soon, especially since his team needs a miracle to make the playoffs.
