The regular season is over! Who got in and who got eliminated?
OT Thrillers: Both Los Angeles teams were involved in overtime thrillers on Sunday, with both of their games having massive playoff implications. If the Rams won, they'd fly as high as the second seed. If the 49ers won, they were in. That's what San Francisco did as they beat the Los Angeles Rams, 27-24. The Niners came back from a 17-0 deficit to win the game, securing a Wild Card date with their old rivals, the Dallas Cowboys. The Rams will take on the Arizona Cardinals at home on Monday night, serving as the rubber match in the season series. Unfortunately for the Chargers, they didn't have such luck. The Las Vegas Raiders defeated the Chargers, 35-32, on a last-second Daniel Carlson field goal. Justin Herbert DID lead the Chargers to two touchdown drives, showing some incredible poise along the way. However, it wasn't meant to be, as Vegas wanted to make the playoffs more. The win also got another playoff spot for another team...
That Ol' Black (And Yellow) Magic: The Pittsburgh Steelers were also involved in an OT thriller, securing the final playoff spot in the process. They beat their hated rival, the Baltimore Ravens, by a score of 16-13. Ben Roethlisberger's career gets extended for another game, as the Steelers will face the defending AFC champions, the Kansas City Chiefs. As for the Ravens, they're eliminated after losing six straight games to close the season. What went wrong for Baltimore? Was it Lamar Jackson's absence? Was it John Harbaugh's questionable playcalling? There are plenty of answers that the Ravens will seek in the offseason. But Baltimore's not the only team to collapse...
Dead Horse: The Indianapolis Colts had two winnable games to close the season: One at home against the Raiders and one on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars. They lost both games, ending their season while extending their six-game losing streak in Jacksonville. Indianapolis will have plenty of questions to answer in their own right, especially after wasting Jonathan Taylor's remarkable season.
